When should we apply for a place?
Applications open the academic year before entry, e.g. for those looking to join Crosfields in September 2026, applications are open from September 2025.
What are the deadlines to apply?
- For Year 7 entry, the deadline is usually late November of your child’s Year 6. If you miss this deadline, please contact Admissions who will be able to advise on a late application.
- For all other entry years, there is no deadline and we accept applications all year round.
What's included in your fees?
At Crosfields School we are proud to offer fees that are packaged as a whole, covering a wide range of educational and welfare provisions including educational day trips, textbooks, stationery, lunches, snacks, and internal co-curricular activities.
Is there a minimum academic standard for entry?
We don’t have a set pass mark for the CAT4 tests, however we do want pupils joining Crosfields to be at a level to cope with our academic pace. We look at all aspects of a pupil’s application when offering a place, ensuring they will thrive at Crosfields in all areas.
Do you accept applications from overseas families?
Absolutely – we are proud to have a diverse community, with pupils joining us from all over the world. We have a strong EAL team who will help to support pupils who do not have English as their first language.
How many external pupils do you accept into Year 7?
We usually accept up to 30 external pupils, with around two thirds of our current Year 6 pupils moving up into the Seniors at Crosfields.
What schools do pupils generally join you from?
We don’t have any set feeder schools – pupils generally join us from a mixture of local state schools and independent schools.
Can my child join mid-year?
Absolutely, providing there is space. Admissions can arrange an assessment at a time convenient to you.
Do you support pupils with special educational needs?
Yes we do. Please see our learning support page for more information.
Do you provide school transport?
Yes, we have multiple bus routes. See our Transport page for more info. We are very flexible with our routes and happy to consider adding stops where needed.
Do you offer taster days?
For Nursery & Reception entry we offer hour-long themed sessions in our setting. We also have Junior and Senior Experience days which are full days where pupils can experience a range of lessons, as well as having lunch and break with us.
Do you offer a sibling discount?
Yes. For families with three or more children attending Crosfields, we provide a 5% discount on the third child’s fees (whilst all three children are enrolled) and a 10% discount on the fourth child’s fees (whilst all four children are enrolled).
Are pupils allowed mobile phones in school?
Pupils in the Pre-Prep and Juniors are not allowed their phones in school. Pupils in the Seniors are allowed to bring a phone in to school but this should not be used at all throughout the day. Should a pupil need to contact their parents, they can do so via the school office.
Where do we purchase uniform from?
Uniform is purchased from Stevensons, either online or in-store. We also have a second-hand uniform shop which is open weekly and offers very good prices. All funds raised from the second-hand shop contribute towards our bursary fund.
