Our Community

At Crosfields, community outreach isn’t just something we do – it’s part of who we are. Supporting others, taking initiative, and making a difference lie at the heart of our school ethos. Each year, we partner with a range of local, national and international charities, giving our pupils meaningful opportunities to step up, lead and understand the world beyond our school gates.

“Kindness” is one of our core values, and charitable giving helps pupils to develop empathy, broaden their perspectives and appreciate the challenges faced by others. Our Charity Co-ordinator works closely with Heads of Houses, RotaKids and the Interact Club to decide which charities we will support each year. Many of our fundraising ideas come directly from our pupils, empowering them to plan, lead and take action.

”We understand the importance of helping pupils see the ‘bigger picture’ and encouraging them to think of others.” Through outreach, pupils feel a genuine sense of pride in creating positive change - discovering that even small acts can make a big difference.” Charity Co-ordinator

How we get involved

Every one of our four Houses, in both Juniors and Seniors, selects a charity to champion each year. Pupils share presentations in Collect (assemblies) before launching their fundraising initiatives.

Beyond the House system, pupils can get hands-on through our extracurricular clubs:

Both are supported by the local Rotary Club, opening the door to real-world community engagement. For older pupils, Interact also supports those working towards the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Our Rotary partnership also offers access to the inspiring Rotary Youth Exchange, giving pupils the chance to experience life in another country.

One of our pupils has even been awarded a charity scholarship to pursue A Levels at a local private school — a testament to the strength of their commitment to service.

In Year 6, pupils take part in weekly visits to a nearby care home as part of our Enrichment programme, building intergenerational connections that benefit both residents and pupils.
