Co-curricular & Enrichment

At Crosfields, co-curricular learning is not an “extra”, it is an essential part of who we are. Rooted in our pillars of Innovation, Diversity and Opportunity, our programme empowers every pupil to discover their passions, grow in confidence and embrace boundless possibilities.

Across every stage of the school, pupils benefit from an inspiring breadth of activities designed to ignite curiosity, nurture wellbeing and develop future ready skills. From Pre-Prep to Senior School, our offer is purposeful, joyful and inclusive, reflecting our belief that we don’t just prepare pupils for their journey ahead; we teach them to embrace it.

Pre-Prep: Exploring interests

Our youngest pupils are introduced to a nurturing, age-appropriate co-curricular programme that grows with them. Sessions take place before and after school and are led by both Crosfields staff and specialist external providers. Activities currently include Dance, Cookery, Chess, Judo, Golf, Swimming and Thinktank, helping children to build confidence, creativity and key early skills.

Juniors: Building skills and confidence

In the Junior School, pupils enjoy an extensive programme that supports personal development beyond the classroom. These daily sessions (4:30–5:30pm) offer a rich mix, from sports and Judo to Fencing,  Music Technology (M:Tech), Musical Theatre, Dance and more. Through these opportunities, children strengthen teamwork, leadership, creativity and resilience – essential skills for the 21st Century.

Our Junior Enrichment Programme broadens horizons further, encouraging pupils to explore new pathways, nurture emerging talents and strive for holistic excellence.

Seniors: Developing independence and expertise

The Senior School’s co-curricular offer is designed to challenge, extend and inspire. Many activities are delivered by Crosfields staff and included in school fees; others involve specialist providers. Current options range from Running & Fitness, STEM, Strength & Conditioning and Netball to Jewellery Making, Computational Thinking, Meeples, Marbles and Beans, and Cricket Nets. External clubs include Climbing, Judo, Golf, Chess, LAMDA and Music Technology (M:Tech).

The Senior Enrichment Programme gives each year group a structured pathway tailored to their developmental stage.

  • Year 7 builds foundational skills through activities such as the £10 Challenge, cooking, first aid, musical theatre and the iDEA Award.
  • Year 8 progresses to enterprise initiatives, self-defence, photography, touch typing and the Ian Michael Award.
  • Year 9 develops leadership and independent research through Toastmasters, Model United Nations, Barclays Life Skills, film-making and the Higher Project Qualification (HPQ).

Pupils can also embark on the Duke of Edinburgh Award, with Bronze level available at Year 9 and Silver available from Year 10.

Celebrating performance and achievement

Crosfields pupils also have the opportunity to take part in events such as the Woodley Festival of Music and Arts, giving them valuable experience performing before a professional adjudicator in a warm and encouraging setting.
